LOCAL SPORTS ROUNDUP: AHS softball plays Cadillac

On Tuesday, the Alpena High School softball team played Cadillac. After the doubleheader, the record was set to 16-15.

In game one, Alpena took a 13-2 win.

Paige Samp and Maddie Spomer combined to strike out 12 batters and limit Cadillac to just three hits. Samp earned the win while recording nine strikeouts.

Alpena was aided at the plate by collecting nine walks. Emilee Modrzejewski had two hits and Ava Rospierski plated four RBIs.

Game two saw similar results with Alpena knocking out 12 hits in the night cap.

Ava Rospierski collected two hits. Izzy Edmonds also had two hits, including a triple and a home run. Lilly Rospierski earned the win pitching a complete game, striking out eight.

Lilly Rospierski helped her own cause by going three for three at the plate, including a double and home run.
