LOCAL SPORTS ROUNDUP: AHS softball loses to TCC

Alpena High School’s softball team lost two games to Traverse City Central on Tuesday, 14-0 and 7-6.

Their season record now sits at 5-9.

In game one, TCC came to play, not letting AHS take a single run.

Game two saw more results from the Wildcats, despite TCC rallying to win in the seventh inning. During the second game, Alpena used the long ball to score five or their six runs.

Sydney Hitzelberger had a three-run homer. Ava Rospierski and Maddie Spomer each added a solo dinger.

Alpena will host Garden City on Friday.

On Saturday, Alpena will host Garden City, Grand Blanc, and Warren Mott.

RC BEATS HILLMAN

Rogers City High School baseball took two wins over Hillman on Tuesday, setting Hillman’s record at 5-9-2.

Game one saw the Hurons overtake the Tigers, 7-5.

Hillman had four hits and three errors during this game, while Rogers City had six hits and five errors.

In game two, the Hurons came out on top again with a final of 10-2.

In the bottom of the fourth, Rogers City brought in five of those 10 runs and Hillman saw difficulties catching up.

Hillman had two hits and seven errors that game, while Rogers City had eight hits and two errors.

Hillman plays Hale at home today and Rogers City hosts Charlton Heston today.
