On May 16, Hillman High School’s baseball head coach Rick Firman saw his 250th varsity win against Posen.

Firman is in his 13th season coaching the Tigers and has coached baseball for the Tigers longer than any coach in school history. Firman is also a 1996 Hillman graduate who played under Hall of Fame head coach Dave Checkley and was a member of the 1994 State Champion and the 1995 State Runner-Up.

The program is and has been a major part of Firman’s life and he has had the pleasure of coaching many players along with his sons, Brady and Braylon. Firman has won nine conference championships and two district titles. Firman is married to Shanna Firman who still takes his book and, as a couple, they were named Alumnus of the Year in 2020.

Hillman’s Athletic Director Eric Muszynski said in a statement that Hillman Community Schools and Hillman Athletics are very proud of Firman and his program accomplishments.

“We thank you again, Coach, and congratulations on earning win number 250!” Muszynski said in the statement.
