Alpena officer graduates from state program

An officer with the Alpena Police Department as well as 33 other law enforcement officers graduated on Friday from the Teaching, Educating, and Mentoring School Liaison Program, according to a press release from the Michigan State police.

TEAM is a school-based, law-related curriculum taught to grades kindergarten through 12th grade by TEAM-trained police officers with the goal of uniting educators, students, and law enforcement officers to help children protect themselves from crime.

The Michigan State Police Grants and Community Services Division hosted the 40-hour training course, during which officers received instruction in student/juvenile psychology, classroom management, and public speaking.
