The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Alpena, Presque Isle, Montmorency, and Alcona counties.
The weather advisory runs from 7 p.m. tonight until 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.
According to the NWS, strong sustained winds from 20-30 miles per hour will impact Northeast Michigan. Gusts in excess of 50 miles per hour are also expected. Winds of this speed can lead to fallen trees and power outages.
Rain, freezing rain, and snow is expected to accompany the wind. The rain and snow could fall until Thursday.
Motorists are asked to drive carefully during the weather event, as high-profile vehicles are prone to the high winds.
