In celebration of the Alcona Dam’s 100-year anniversary, Consumers Energy is offering free public tours of the dam from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on May 18.

Tours will include a brief presentation and guided visit, offering a first-hand look at the hydroelectric facility’s inner workings. Each tour will last about 30 minutes.

Participants are asked to park at 6128, F-30 Glennie, MI 48737, and board a bus to the dam tour site.
