Onaway man arrested for criminal sexual conduct
CHEBOYGAN – The Michigan State Police-Gaylord Post has arrested a 47-year-old Onaway man for second-degree criminal sexual conduct and other charges after the man turned himself in to police.
The State Police said in a news release Friday that the man came to the Gaylord Post earlier this month and told a trooper he had “done something wrong.” The alleged victim was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center in Alpena and police then submitted a report to the Cheboygan County Prosecutor’s Office. An arrest warrant was authorized on Tuesday and the Onaway man turned himself into the Cheboygan County Jail later that day.
The man was arraigned in 89th District Court in Cheboygan County on one count criminal sexual conduct-second degree, one count accosting children for immoral purposes, and one count of contributing to the delinquency of children.
He was given a $20,000 personal recognizance bond and is due in court again at 10:30 a.m. May 10.
