Alpena’s Cooper Black signs with NHL
Alpena High School 2019 graduate Cooper Black signed a National Hockey League contract with the Florida Panthers on Monday.
Black finished this season at Dartmouth College, a Division I Ivy League school, where he started in 29 of the Big Green’s 32 games.
The former AHS goalie, who was named Most Valuable Player and Michigan Hockey Goalie of the Year his senior year, will start his two-year, entry-level contract in the NHL’s 2024-25 season.
