The Alpena High School robotics team, Team 5505 – Volts Squared, competed in a District Event two weeks ago at Lake City. They were defeated in the semi-finals and ended the tournament in fourth place. Undeterred, the kids made significant changes and improvements to the robot over spring break and traveled to our second district event in Mt. Pleasant at CMU. Team 5505 fought hard during qualification matches and ended the first day of the competition in second place. They won three straight matches Saturday morning to end qualifications in first place and started the double-elimination tournament as the captains of Alliance 1.
