The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce fundraising campaign for the annual Fourth of July fireworks show has begun.

The chamber is looking for at least 50 businesses, organizations, or individuals to donate $500 each, or more, to reach their $25,000 goal.

The Alpena firefighters pledged the initial $500 donation and are challenging all local businesses or organizations to meet or beat their donation. Supporters will receive a sign to hang at your business/organization, a Facebook live video presenting the donation, other social media shout-outs, and an ad in The Alpena News (to run sometime during the week of July 4).
