The Northeast Michigan Materials Management Authority is holding its annual cleanup day for Alpena residents to toss out items such as tires, appliances like water heaters, furniture, and more on May 4 at the Northern Lights Arena. Participants must come between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. with final participants in line by 1 p.m. to get service. Participants can give one freon unit and two mattresses or box springs for free but will need to pay additional charges for more units.
