POLICE BLOTTER: Montmorency County police respond to vehicle crash, welfare check, trespassing report

March 18

7:36 a.m.: A vehicle deer crash was reported in Montmorency Township; the report was taken.

4:10 p.m.: An erratic driver was reported in Hillman Township, the driver was UTL upon arrival.

4:22 p.m.: A welfare check was requested on a family member that lives in Briley Township; a deputy responded to the residence. The subject was found to be fine and a call was made back to the family.

11:52 p.m.: While on routine patrol in Albert Township, a deputy initiated a traffic stop. The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested then later lodged in Alpena County Jail.

March 19

12:05 p.m.: A report of a residence in Briley Township with the door standing open was called in. A deputy responded to the residence, no one appeared to be living in the residence, the deputy secured the door and cleared without incident.

March 20

8:25 a.m.: A resident of Hillman Township came into the lobby at MCSO to report that multiple guns had been taken out of her home while she was away. A deputy spoke with her and the investigation is ongoing at this time.

11:30 a.m.: Two MCSO deputies responded to Macomb County Jail to transport a male subject to Alpena Jail so he could be sentenced on Monday.

1:38 p.m.: A welfare check was requested on a subject that lives in Rust Township. A deputy responded to the residence, EMS was called and the subject was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in a fall.

March 22

9:06 a.m.: A single vehicle crash was reported in Vienna Township, a deputy responded to the scene to take the report. No injuries were reported.

12:20 p.m.: A single vehicle in the ditch was reported in Avery Township, MCSO deputies responded to the scene to take the report. Tri Township Fire and EMS also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported and all units cleared once the vehicle was towed away.

12:45 p.m.: Residents of Albert Township came into the lobby to report their neighbors’ dogs frequently being loose and in their yard. They were advised to call us when the dogs were in their yard and to take some pictures and videos if possible.

1:49 p.m.: A two vehicle crash was reported in Albert Township, Troopers in the area took the report and cleared without incident. No injuries were reported.

10:44 p.m.: Deputies responded to a call from an Albert Township resident asking them to trespass people from his property; it was discovered that one of the male subjects being trespassed had a warrant out of our jurisdiction. The male was arrested and lodged on the warrant in Alpena County Jail and all the unwanted people there were trespassed from the property.

March 23

11:42 a.m.: A resident in Albert Township called to report multiple vehicles at a rental near West Twin Lake that were blocking the roadway, law enforcement responded to the area, the subjects were moving the vehicles upon their arrival.

12:27 p.m.: While on routine patrol MSP Troopers located a subject in Albert Township that had multiple warrants out of Montmorency County. The subject was taken into custody, the vehicle she was driving was towed from the scene, and the subject was transported to Alpena County Jail to be lodged.

4:52 p.m.: A verbal dispute in progress was reported via 911. Deputies responded to the scene, the subjects causing the disturbance left prior to their arrival.

March 24

12:43 p.m.: A subject with a season residence in Briley Township called because he could see people walking around his property on his surveillance cameras, a deputy responded to the residence, the buildings were all secure and the subjects were gone upon his arrival.

2:16 p.m.: A resident of Albert Township called because her smoke detectors were going off and she could smell smoke. Albert Township Fire and EMS responded to the residence. There was no fire in the residence and the first responders cleared without incident.

6:31 p.m.: A welfare check was requested in Hillman Township; Deputies responded and the subjects were found to be fine.

7:31 p.m.: A male subject in Hillman Village called into the center referencing a dispute; a female subject was harassing the male. Parties were separated and officers cleared without incident.

9:00 p.m.: An Albert Township resident contacted the department to report an ongoing scam; an investigation is currently ongoing.
