POLICE BLOTTER: Montmorency County police respond to alarms, welfare checks, deer-vehicle crash

March 4

2:07 a.m.: An alarm company called in a residential burglar alarm in Loud Township; deputies responded to the residence. The residence was found to be secure and deputies cleared without incident.

7:25 a.m.: An Albert Township resident stopped at MCSO to report she hit a deer on her way to work. A deputy took the report.

8:37 a.m.: An alarm called to report a commercial panic alarm at a business in Briley Township, contact was made with the business and everything was fine.

11:43 a.m.: A resident of Briley Township called to report an older model black Dodge Ram that has a loud exhaust and drives too fast downtown Atlanta. Deputies were advised.

12:45 p.m.: A resident in Briley Township called and requested an officer to come to the residence and speak with a female subject that refused to leave. A deputy responded and spoke with both parties. The female left the residence.

3:15 p.m.: Two calls were made to the sheriff’s department referencing a male subject in a black truck that stated he worked for Frontier, neither caller had ordered Frontier. A deputy responded to the area but was unable to locate the truck.

3:38 p.m.: A resident of Albert Township called to report his ex-girlfriend came and took their dog. A deputy responded to the resident to speak with the caller.

7:57 p.m.: A welfare check was requested on a Hillman Township resident; a deputy contacted the subject and he was found to be fine.

10:13 p.m.: Deputies arrested a male subject on a warrant out of our jurisdiction; he was later lodged at Alpena County Jail. Officers cleared without incident.

March 5

12:39 p.m.: Tri Township Fire Department and PIE&G responded to a call in Briley Township after lightning struck a powerline. All units cleared without incident.

9:35 a.m.: A male subject came into the department to file assault charges on his girlfriend, investigation is ongoing at this time.

9:53 a.m.: Deputies responded to investigate a domestic assault allegation that they were notified about that occurred yesterday. The deputies spoke with both parties, and cleared without incident.

March 6

5:03 a.m.: A vehicle deer accident was reported in Briley Township; no one was injured and a deputy took the report.

7:36 p.m.: CCR Trading Post reported a male subject making verbal threats to the cashier, contact was made with subject and situation cleared without further incident.

March 7

7:42 a.m.: Deer/ Vehicle accident was reported M-33 near Voyer Lake Rd, no injuries were reported.

12:02 p.m.: A report came into the center that mail was tampered with and thrown around on Fleming Rd, units were unable to locate the individual the complainant had described.

12:27 p.m.: ECAS reported a black lab/ chow mix was brought into the shelter.

March 8

2:14 p.m.: A civil standby was requested in Vienna Township so the caller could retrieve a vehicle that he owned.

2:50 p.m.: While on routine patrol Troopers initiated a traffic stop in the Village of Hillman, the subject was found to have warrants out of Alpena. The Troopers transported the subject to Alpena Jail to be lodged.

8:53 p.m.: A reckless driver was reported to the center from a neighboring jurisdiction; while on routine patrol a deputy located and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was not found to be intoxicated or driving recklessly. The officer cleared without incident.

March 9

10:27 a.m.: A civil standby was requested in Albert Township. Deputies assisted the subject in getting her belongings, and cleared without incident.

11:31 a.m.: A welfare check was requesting on animals in Briley Township, a deputy responded to the residence, the animals looked to be fine, and he cleared without incident.

8:40 p.m.: Deputies responded to a welfare check in Montmorency Township; the subjects were found to be fine.

10:25 p.m.: While on routine patrol an officer initiated a traffic stop in Briley Township; a passenger was found to have a warrant. The male was arrested and later lodged in Alpena County Jail without incident.

March 10

3:22 a.m.: A deputy responded to a welfare check in Albert Township for an overdue motorist; the subjects were found to be fine and home safely.

11:53 a.m.: While on routine patrol Troopers initiated a traffic stop in Albert Township; the driver was found to have a warrant out of Otsego County. The troopers transported the subject to the jail.

10:39 p.m.: An officer arrested a male subject with a warrant out of our jurisdiction with the assistance from a neighboring county. The male was later lodged at Alpena County Jail.
