MyMichigan Health purchases three hospitals

MyMichigan Health, the Midland-based owner of the Alpena hospital, will purchase hospitals currently owned by Ascension in Tawas, Standish, and Saginaw.

MyMichigan will buy Ascension St. Mary’s of Saginaw, a 268-bed acute care inpatient facility, Ascension St. Mary’s Towne Center, an ambulatory surgery center, wound care center, emergency department, and short stay unit facility, Ascension St. Joseph in Tawas, a 47-bed acute inpatient facility, and Ascension St. Mary’s of Standish, a 25-bed critical access hospital and 29-bed skilled nursing facility. The sale also includes all related sites of care and related physician practices of Ascension Medical Group.

The transaction is expected to close this summer.

Hollyhock Emporium to host block party in Harrisville

The Hollyhock Emporium in downtown Harrisville will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a block party at 11 a.m. April 6.

In a press release, the store says the event will feature the Smoking Trolls food truck, karaoke, face painting, games, and more.

The Hollyhock Emporium is a women’s clothing, thrift, and consignment store, as well as a gift shop.

New Edwards Jones office to open in Alpena

Local Edward Jones financial advisors Marc and Eric Ferguson announced Friday they will open their sixth office location in Alpena on Industrial Drive off of U.S.-23 North in Alpena.

Ferguson and his branch office administrator, Angela Tanner, will relocate to the new office with their clients later this summer.

Ferguson and Branch Office Administrators Alyssa Klepoch and Courtney Schultz will continue to serve clients at the Arbor Lane location.

Edward Jones has served the Alpena community since 1980.
