A 32-year-old Alpena woman was arrested on Feb. 27 for allegedly stabbing a man at a residence on Blanchard Street in Alpena Township.

The suspect was arraigned last week in the 88th District Court in Alpena County for one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and one count of Domestic Violence. She was given a $2,500 10% cash surety bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is on March 12 at 12:30 p.m.

According to a press release from the Michigan State Police, the woman was helping the man move when she became angry after seeing a text message between the man and another woman. When the man attempted to comfort the woman by hugging her, she stabbed him in the back. The victim fled the scene and met with troopers at a residence on East Nicholson Hill Road. He was treated by EMS and taken to MyMichigan Medical Center.

The woman was arrested at her residence on Spruce Road when she returned home.
