The Alpena Township Board of Trustees will host a special meeting and budget workshop at the township office building on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

The trustees will kickoff the meeting by going into closed session to discuss the ongoing water litigation with Alpena.

The trustees will also consider a request for wage increases for election workers, financing options for a new pumper tanker truck for the fire department, and building code changes.

After business for the regular meeting wraps up, the budget session will begin.

The township budget runs from April 1 through March 31.
