The Woods Track Club had a spectacular showing at Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday with all athletes achieving a personal record or State Qualifying Standard time on the day.

The Woods added two state qualifications as Julian Stevens sped to a new indoor best of 23.34 in the 200m and the Sprint Medley Relay team of Braeden Mathis, Thorin Rogers, Joe Sheridan, and John Kurowski blazed a time of 3:50.62, nearly 25 seconds faster than the Michigan Indoor Track Series qualifying time.

The team’s six total individual PR’s were achieved by Matt Lash (Shot Put – 32’2″), Keira Paad (Shot Put – 20’7″), Braeden Mathis (400m – 56.06), Hayden Bacchus (1600m – 5:11.17), Julian Stevens (200m – 23.34), and Joe Sheridan (200m – 24.56).

The Woods will be represented by six athletes at the Michigan Indoor Track Series’s Indoor State Championships on Saturday at the Lincoln Athletic Building in Ypsilanti. Brady Carlson (Weight Throw), Melody Kauffman (Weight Throw and Shot Put), and the SMR team of Mathis, Rogers, Sheridan, and Kurowski will compete for indoor all-state honors.
