LOCAL SPORTS ROUNDUP: Hillman continues winning streak
Hillman boys’ basketball had a great team effort in the win against Posen winning 77-57 at Posen on Tuesday. The win would extend Hillman’s NSL winning streak to 45 games and 28 straight games in the Little Dipper Division.
The Tigers had a balanced attack with Brenden Rouleau scoring a career-high 26 points. Trenton Taratuta would have a triple-double with 21 points, 16 rebounds, and 12 assists and Senior big man Blake Kennard would add 18 points and six boards. Hillman improves to 14-2 and 6-0 in the NSL.
The next game is Friday against AuGres in Hillman.
“I was impressed with our balance tonight and it shows how we are growing as a group at the right time,” said coach Eric Muszynski. “Every night we are having a multitude of guys doing good things lately in all statistical categories.”
Alcona follows through
Alcona’s girls’ basketball team fought hard during Wednesday night’s game to overpower Rogers City and take the win, 35-32.
Emma Travis and Sage Gauthier led the team with 11 points each.
The Tigers are scheduled to play at Rogers City on Friday.
