Changes coming to Fresh Palate, Nucleus

ALPENA - The Nucleus Lounge in downtown Alpena has closed its doors and The Fresh Palate is making a slight change in its operations.
Eric Peterson, who owns both businesses, said on Wednesday that both businesses are doing well, but a new business he is planning on opening is going to limit his time, and sacrifices to his current operations need to be made.
Peterson did not share what the new business venture is or when the community can expect it to open.
"I needed to free up more time and I am taking it from one business and am going to use it for the other," he said. "The Fresh Palate will no longer have a night menu and will return to how the original Fresh Palate was."
Those who worked and frequented the establishments celebrated them and the fun times they had there on social media.
Peterson has been a ringleader for downtown events, community initiatives, and entertainment. He was among the first to introduce outdoor dining and live entertainment for people to enjoy and the Nucleus was a popular stop for people who often bounced from one business to another to enjoy a cocktail.
On Facebook, people were sharing stories about the good times they had at the lounge and the memories they made.
Peterson said he appreciates the support of his staff and the members of the community that has made his businesses successful.
