On Wednesday, the Alpena High School boys' varsity swim team traveled to Alma and unfortunately lost 53-72.
"As a whole, the entire team swam their personal best," said coach Jennifer Johnson. "Each individual and relay has been working hard with entries, strokes, and turns."
High scorers were Kaleb Werth, earning second in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard Backstroke, and Nicholas Dargis, who took second in the 500-yard Freestyle and 100-yard Breaststroke.
"The goal right now is learning the importance of balance and proper stoke mechanics to produce good swim techniques," said Johnson.
The Wildcats will swim again on Jan. 26 at Standish-Sterling at 5 p.m.
