ALPENA -- The Alpena High boys basketball team (2-5, 0-1 BNC) played against Cedarville on Monday night, winning 66-34.
The Wildcats took total control against the Islanders and never looked back. Ultimately, Alpena came out with the win, led by its defensive pressure and ability to knock down the three-point shot.
In the first half, Easton Srebnik led the way with 16 points coming on four makes from beyond the arc.
Tucker Bright finished shortly behind Srebnik, with 15 points going into halftime.
Alpena led 39-20 going into the break.
The Wildcats' second-half scoring was led by Caleb McEwen with eight points, where he later completed his double-double with points and rebounds.
Overall Alpena's top score was Bright with 20 and Srebnik finished with 16.
Alpena plays at TC West on Thursday at 7 p.m.
