ALPENA — Pied Piper School held its 50th Holiday Concert on Wednesday.

For the event, Pied Piper students and staff gathered in the school’s gymnasium to perform a number of different Christmas songs to those in attendance.

Each classroom sang one or two Christmas songs and had a performance to accompany it.

Some of the songs performed consisted of “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

Alpena-Montmorency-Alcona Educational Service District Superintendent Justin Gluesing was in attendance and said that the concert acts as a good way for Pied Piper to celebrate the holiday season and share it with friends and family.

“It’s a great opportunity to bring our family members and community to celebrate the Holiday season,” said Gluesing. “We also find that we have our bus drivers here. We have former staff and faculty that come back for this event. This is one of those special events throughout the year where it’s sort of a reunion of staff and families and so it’s just a wonderful opportunity to come together during the holiday season.”
