Hillman takes victory in OT

The Oscoda boys’ basketball team traveled to Hillman and was defeated, 57-56, on a 3-point shot at the buzzer in overtime by Trenton Taratuta on Thursday.

Oscoda was led by Michael Myles with 22 points, Blake Mallak followed with 12 points, and Connor McNichols finished with 10 points. Thad Spragg, Hunter Perez, and Jack Leclair assisted the final score with 4 points each.

Oscoda moves to 3-1 on the season.

For Hillman, Trenton Taratuta ended the game with 41 points, six boards, four steals, and four assists. Senior big man Blake Kennard also pitched in with 11 points, five boards, and two blocked shots.

Hillman continues with an undefeated season, improving to 3-0.

Alcona defeats Hale, 74-22

The Alcona boys’ basketball team beat Hale, 74-22, on Thursday night.

David Sharboneau led the team with 17 points, with Collin Walker and Garrett Somers not far behind at 11 each. Evan Borsvold, Cayden Hebert, and Jacob Renchenski each had 6 points as well.

Alcona plays at Posen on Monday at 6 p.m.
