Alpena High School’s boys’ tennis was rewarded with both individual and team Academic All-State honors.

The Michigan High School Coaches Association has placed three students from AHS on the Academic All-State Team.

These students are senior Jonathan Bender, senior Avery McConnell, and junior Charles Renard.

They have been recognized for their academic excellence in Division 3.

Also, the entire boys’ tennis team from AHS has been acknowledged for their academic achievements and has earned the Academic All-State title in Division 3.

“I’m very pleased with how the season went for us this year,” said coach Charlie Giordano.

“All the boys had some great competitions and growth was seen by all.

“I am proud of the boys that have been selected to Academic All-State Honors as it shows their dedication as a student first.”
