Alpena boys fall at Soo, 58-50

Alpena High School’s boys’ basketball team lost to Sault Ste. Marie, 58-50, on Tuesday night. The away game puts their record at 0-3.

“We had a slow start offensively which had us behind from the beginning,” said Coach John Pintar.

“We had a nice run before halftime and we were only down by seven. Another offensive slump had us fall behind by 15.

“Our guys kept battling and we cut the deficit to five with two minutes to play but couldn’t finish the comeback and fell 58-50.”

The Wildcats leading scorer was Tucker Bright with 22 points; Connor Cameron had eight points.

Alpena plays Glen Lake at home on Friday at 7 p.m.
