Shawn Cunningham, Thunder Bay Community Health’s Atlanta site supervisor, received the Care Team Member of the Year Award.
“Often serving between leadership and frontline staff, our site supervisor’s important work can sometimes be overlooked,” Thunder Bay Community Health said in a news release. “Shawn leads her site with excellence, compassion, and a smile. She models dedicated service each day all the while striving for the best patient experiences. Her staff respect her, and she motivates through kindness. In addition to being one of the awardees, Shawn recently celebrated her 20-year anniversary as a Thunder Bay team member. Shawn’s outstanding commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of our communities is evident!”
Kayla Berry, Thunder Bay’s chief operations officer, received the Healthcare Leadership Award.
“During our recent leadership transition, Kayla was a critical stabilizing force for the organization,” Thunder Bay Community Health said in the press release. “She bridged the gap between the retired CEO and the new CEO and CFO to ensure the health center never missed a beat, and Kayla continues to be an example of stability and positive change leadership. Kayla’s dedication to Thunder Bay and our staff is extraordinary!”
The MPCA represents community health centers, like Thunder Bay, across the state and recognizes health center staff for achievements throughout the year.
