ALPENA – Come to Downtown Alpena tonight for an enchanting evening of spooky shopping specials, bewitching beverages, and other witchy wonders throughout downtown.
Many downtown stores will be open during the special event from 5 to 8 p.m., with specials and fun for all.
Each participating business will have a cauldron that customers can pull from for a chance to win coupons from other businesses and Downtown Dollars that can be used at over 50 downtown shops, restaurants, and more. A total of $500 worth of winning Downtown Dollars will be spread throughout the cauldrons.
This year, there will also be an adult scavenger hunt throughout downtown beginning at 5 p.m. Individuals or groups can pick up a scavenger hunt at Parallel 45 Books & Gifts (106 N. 2nd Ave.) and must complete and return it to the bookstore by 8 p.m. Three winners will be drawn randomly to win $100 in Downtown Dollars and announced on Downtown Alpena’s Facebook page shortly after 8 p.m.
In addition to the shopping specials and scavenger hunt, there will be live music throughout downtown all evening beginning at 5 p.m. at the Fresh Palate, HopSide Brewery, Thunder Bay Winery, and Glik’s, then PIF Cider (6 to 8 p.m.) and the Black Sheep Pub (7 to 9 p.m).
