The Alpena High School Wildcats cross-country team wrapped up its season on Friday afternoon at the Michigan High School Athletic Association District 1 regional at Shepherd.
Alpena was unable to advance anyone to the state meet this year. The girls team placed eighth, while the boys were 10th in the 14-team region.
The top three teams and the top seven individuals not on a top-three team earned the right to advance to the state finals next weekend at Michigan International Speedway. The Wildcats ran extremely hard and competed well as a group.
Amelia Roznowski, Austin Reinhardt, and Logan Ruczynski all had career best times, while Izzy Szymanski posted her best time of the season.
