MARYSVILLE -- As the season progresses the Alpena Community College cross country team continues to put in the work and improve each race. At the Skipper Invitational held in Marysville, ACC's efforts paid off as it continues to make some positive moves as a team.
"It was a tough, muddy course so every runner had to deal with tough footing. I was pleased with our overall places for the race," ACC coach Mark Jacobs said. "The next three weeks we will have our hardest practices of the season. With the effort and focus, we will be right where we need to be when the season ends. I am pleased on how everything is coming together."
Leading the way for Alpena was Chip Allen (Alpena), followed by Matt Wilbert (Rogers City), Ty Kailing (Reed City), Jacob Kochanski (Alpena), Colin Sheahan (Livionia), Ben Purat (Novi) and Matt Mundy (Sault Ste. Marie.)
The Lumberjacks next travel to Ancilla, Indiana on Oct. 14.
