The Salvation Army in Alpena is asking for the public’s help to find its Honorary Red Kettle Christmas chairperson for the upcoming holiday season.

The chairperson would be an Alpena County resident who supports the community. They would also be willing to show their love of the Christmas season and giving to others. They can be a supporter of The Salvation Army or someone who enjoys the work of the Army. They would be the “voice” of the Army.

Duties include encouraging the community to volunteer to ring bells, sharing our goal with donors, and introducing special events during the season. This is done on a weekly basis through videos.

The chairperson will be announced on Facebook on Oct. 16.
