Alpena High School receives high marks in U.S. News ranking

On Thursday, the U.S. News and World Report ranked Alpena High School in the top 13% of high schools in Michigan and in the top 18% in the nation, Alpena Public Schools announced in a press release.

In Michigan, Alpena High was ranked 147th and 4,526th in the U.S..

Schools are ranked based on college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, graduation rate, and underserved student performance.

U.S News has named Alpena High School to the list several times in the past and also awarded Alpena High for the volume of opportunities to earn college credit while in high school.
