Deputies from the Alcona County Sheriff's office assisted several agencies, including the Michigan State Police Special Operations Division in apprending Jose Borrego, 22, a fugitive from Florida, last fall, a news released announced on Thursday.
When officers attempted to contact him at a Greenbush residence, Borrego fled, setting off a multi-agency manhunt in Greenbush Township.
Borrego was eventually found in a field behind a residence on McGregor Road in Greenbush Township and surrendered after a short foot chase. He was lodged in the Iosco County Jail on charges out of Oscoda Township and multiple warrants in Florida.
