Tony White, head of church properties, said cameras did not show the exact moment, but a bright early morning flash of light, followed by the display crumbling down has led to speculation that a lightning strike could be the culprit. Immanuel Lutheran Church hopes to fix it and will get quotes from masonry workers to start the insurance claim process.
