Officials shut down Ripley Boulevard in both directions after responders were called to the scene of a trailer fire at Thunder Bay Estates shortly after 5 p.m. on Thursday. According to Lt. Chris Stephens, of the Alpena Township Fire Department, there were two adults and two children in the home who noticed a fire in the bedroom, evacuated the home and called 911. When firefighters arrived, they were able to control the fire from the outside. The bedroom sustained some fire damage, but the rest of the home was spared, apart from some smoke damage. No injuries were reported.
