ALPENA -- Alpena County Library will host Alpena’s own rocket scientist, Corey Brooker, at 5:30 p.m. today.
This free presentation, Orion -- Artemis I, will be held at 211 N. 1st Ave.
Brooker, Orion System Environments and Specialty Engineering at Lockheed Martin Space Company, will show what is happening in the future of space.
“I am excited to share with my hometown the Artemis I mission that I've been a part of for the past 15 years,” Brooker said in a press release from the library. “The Artemis I mission was a test flight to show that the Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft could send our astronauts back to the moon. Artemis I lifted off on Nov 16th and splashed down on Dec 11th. My presentation will be an overview of that flight and what is to come with future missions.”
Brooker has been working on the Orion Program with the Commercial Civil Space Line of Business at Lockheed Martin Space for the past 15 years. He is currently the senior manager for Orion’s Systems Environments and Specialty Engineering.
