Courtesy Photo The major girls district softball tournament started in Boyne City last week as Hillman went undefeated and took on Alpena and won 6-3, Gaylord 17-0, and Boyne City 21-8. On Tuesday, the Hillman All Stars played the Alpena All Stars in Gaylord for the district finals championship game and won 6-5. Abigail Oswald was the pitcher for Hillman and had eight strikeouts. Raelyn Konieczny, Brook Witzke, Star Brooks, and Julianna Cirino all contributed single hits and Abigail Oswald had a double! Hillman will play next in Jackson at the 2023 state finals.
