Early Tuesday morning around 12:15 a.m. Alpena Township fire crews were called out to a possible structure fire. It was reported that the fire was out but still smoldering. When crews arrived on scene in the 200 Block of Woodland Drive, the rear of the structure was on fire, Township officials said in a news release.

Maple Ridge Fire Department provided mutual aid putting out the fire. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
