‘The Real War on Women’ author at Olivet Saturday

Rachael Jenneman

ALPENA — Author Rachael Jenneman will be signing copies of her book, “The Real War on Women” from 10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, at Olivet Book and Gift, on the corner of Chisholm Street and 2nd Avenue in downtown Alpena.

“She starts every chapter with a woman from World War II who stepped out of her comfort zone to do what God had called her to do,” said Olivet owner Mary Rajasekhar. “She ends every chapter with something to think on and reflect on.”

“The Real War on Women: Overcoming Culture’s Lies to Freely Live Out Your God-given Purpose” is Jenneman’s first book.

Jenneman, a former children’s pastor, can be heard on WLJN and FuelFM in Traverse City.

“It seems no matter where you go, somebody’s trying to put women in a box,” Jenneman said in a phone interview on Wednesday.

Author Rachael Jenneman will be at Olivet Book and Gift on Saturday morning to sign copies of her book, "The Real War on Women."

She explained that throughout the Bible, women stepped up to serve when and where they had to, and they did the same in World War II as well.

The book has historical references and modern-day applications.

“Women in the modern world need to step up and be where God placed us,” she said.

She started writing the book in 2017 and completed it in 2022.

“I really wrote it for the person I was 10 years ago when I was having a quarter-life crisis,” she said, “With all that pressure to succeed before you’re 25.”

Come meet Jenneman, who will be dressed as Rosie the Riveter, on Saturday at Olivet.

She is working on her next book, which will be about finding contentment in an achievement-obsessed world.
