The Posen softball team split two games on Saturday, defeating Bellaire 8-1 and losing to Central Lake 18-17.
Posen took an early 2-0 lead in the opener and then tacked on supporting runs over the last three innings.
Madison Kamyszek had two hits, including a home run and a double and three RBI, and scored twice; Joeclyn Hincka and Faith Cousins each had two hits and an RBI, and Cousins had a home run.
Halie Konieczny won in the circle, allowing a run on five hits with four strikeouts and a walk.
In a high-scoring second game, both teams scored early before Posen scored 11 runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 17-4 lead. Central Lake caught fire from there, however, scoring four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and 10 more in the sixth inning.
Ava Wesner had four hits, three RBI and scored twice for Posen; Kamyszek and Cousins each had three hits and an RBI. Hincka added two hits and two RBI.

ACC falls in district play
STEVENSVILLE -- The Alpena Community College softball team's season came to an end on Friday in district play.
On Thursday, Henry Ford defeated ACC 4-2.
Makayla Kamyszek led ACC (18-16) with three hits and Jade Schultz and Abby Platt each had one.
ACC scored a run in both the first and fourth innings and Henry Ford scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings.
On Friday, Oakland defeated ACC 4-1. The Raiders scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning and kept the lead from there.
ACC's lone run came in the sixth inning on a solo home run from Jade Schultz. Maddy Wilkinson also had a hit for the Lumberjacks.
The losses bring an end to a successful season for ACC, which saw the Lumberjacks earn their first conference championship in program history.
