Alpena ends fluoride in drinking water

The City of Alpena will discontinue the use of sodium silicofluoride in its drinking water on May 1. In December, the Alpena Municipal Council voted to eliminate the addition of fluoride in the drinking water because of the cost and availability of the additive.
