ALL programs include Rep. Cam Cavitt, tech help, Moveable Feast

Cam Cavitt

ALPENA — In addition to its regular weekly programming, the Association of Lifelong Learners at Alpena Community College will host three special programs this week, starting with a visit from a state representative this morning.

At 10 a.m. today, join ALL to meet with State Representative Cam Cavitt (R-Cheboygan) at M. Briggs Center on the ACC campus.

Cavitt, State Rep. for the 106th District, will talk about his thoughts on arriving in Lansing, including but not limited to working with other members of Congress, the things he would like to accomplish and how he connects with his constituents. Cavitt will also share his life story.

Cavitt has been a Northern Michigan Realtor for nearly two decades. He also runs a small business and served his community as Cheboygan County Drain Commissioner, while working various odd jobs, from working on Christmas tree farms, to working in hospitality. Cavitt was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022. He represents the 106th District, which includes the Northern Michigan counties of Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, Presque Isle, and portions of both Oscoda and Cheboygan. Cavitt and his wife, Lynn, have lived in Northern Michigan for decades. There, they raised their three kids: Caleb, Skyler and Emma.

Then from 3 to 5:30 p.m. today, ALL will host a Technology Help Workshop at M. Briggs Center, with Alpena High School students answering technology questions.

The Business Professionals of America Club of Alpena High will answer technology questions on devices and applications. Bring your devices and questions. This workshop is free but goodwill donations are appreciated.
