ALPENA — After a three-year hiatus, Trinity Episcopal Church will again host its Victorian Tea this year on Saturday, May 6.

Tickets go on sale this Friday. Tickets are $20 per adult and $10 per child ages 11 and younger. To reserve tickets for either of two time slots: 1 to 2:30 p.m. or 3 to 4:30 p.m., call the church office at 989-356-0576.

The theme for this, the 32nd Victorian Tea, will be “Tea in the Crystal Palace,” featuring beautiful decorations that will make you think you just entered a castle fit for royalty.

“We are overjoyed and excited to continue a tradition that is longstanding at Trinity Episcopal Church,” said Kathryn Kunze, who co-chairs the Victorian Tea committee with Laurie Griggs.

She said the Crystal Palace theme was born after the gift of a gorgeous crystal vase in 2019.

“Basically, it was a gift of a beautiful crystal vase that got me started on the crystal theme,” Kunze said, adding that the decorations will be modeled after Prince Albert and Queen Victoria’s Crystal Palace, built in 1851 in London.

Victorian wear is encouraged but not required to attend the Victorian Tea. Men and women are invited to attend this traditional event, which will include a variety of delicious sweet and savory treats, and, of course, tea.

Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 124 E. Washington Ave., Alpena.
