Police respond to home invasion, shooting

The Oscoda Township Police Department and assisting agencies including the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a shooting in Oscoda Township on March 10.

Upon arriving at a home on Potomac Road, offices found a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers gathered information consistent with the man threatening occupants of the home and being on the premises.

Investigating officers determined the man entered the home after being asked to leave the premises and being shot by an occupant of the home.

The man was transported to the hospital and discharged on March 13. He was arrested for first degree home invasion in relation to the incident.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
