After only about a year since being established, the Alcona County Chamber of Commerce is being dissolved.

In an email, the chamber board said it voted to close the chamber, but it didn’t give a reason for why the move was made.

The email says all members of the chamber that paid membership dues in 2022 were refunded and the remaining funds were used to place a billboard on I-75 near Birch Run until Sept. 17.

The release said the remaining board felt this was best to market businesses in Alcona County.
