Alpena woman arrested for meth possession
ALPENA — An Alpena woman was arraigned Monday in 88th District Court in Alpena County on one count possession of methamphetamine, and one count possession controlled substance – analogues, according to a Michigan State Police press release.
On Friday night, troopers from the Michigan State Police-Alpena Post stopped a vehicle on Long Rapids Road in Alpena Township for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle was unable to provide a copy of the vehicle’s registration or show proof of insurance, according to the release.
The passenger, an Alpena woman, had three outstanding warrants for her arrest. During her arrest, troopers observed an open Suboxone strip package fall to the floorboards from between her legs. Troopers also found a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine underneath a coat next to her.
During a search of the woman, troopers found she was also in possession of a small bag of methamphetamine and another sealed Suboxone package.
She was lodged in the Alpena County Jail.
Her next scheduled court appearance is on Feb. 9.
