Montmorency County deputies respond to fire, crash, elk vs. vehicle

Montmorency County Inmates lodged in Alpena County Jail: 10

Dec. 7

11:01 a.m.: A dispute in progress in Hillman Township was reported. Deputies responded to the scene, one party left the residence. Officers cleared without incident.

1:07 p.m.: A fire was reported on Canada Creek Ranch; two subjects were transported to the hospital for their injuries.

5:45 p.m.: A deputy responded to a call in Briley Township for an injured deer on M-33; the deer was dispatched.

8:45 p.m.: Deputies along with Tri-Township Fire responded to a single vehicle slide-off on M-32 in Briley Township; no one was injured and all responders cleared without incident.

9:37 p.m.: An officer responded to a vehicle deer accident in Montmorency Township; the driver was unharmed. The responding officer took the report.

Dec. 8

12 a.m.: Deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover in Hillman Township along with Hillman Fire and EMS–no one was injured.

2:57 a.m.: Officers responded to a vehicle elk accident on M-33 N in Briley Township; the elk was dispatched by law enforcement upon their arrival. Deputies took the report and the driver was not injured.

11:07 a.m.: A two vehicle crash was reported in Vienna Township. A deputy along with Vienna Fire responded to the scene, no injuries were reported. The officer took the report and cleared the scene without incident.

8:24 p.m.: Deputies responded to a dispute in Hillman Village; the parties were separated and officers cleared the scene without incident.

8:54 p.m.: A Briley Township resident wanted to report a scam on Facebook where people create fake profiles and pose as family members and send a link for you to click on and ask for banking and personal information to allegedly send you a lump sum of cash; this is very much a scam. The male was advised to contact his family member to alert them of the scam and that people were posing as the family member. The reporting person didn’t divulge any of his personal information to the scammer, just wanted to make other citizens aware of the scam.

Dec. 11

7 p.m.: Deputies responded to a verbal dispute in Hillman Township; both parties were separated. Deputies cleared without incident.
