Walmart loss prevention workers in July caught an Alpena woman cheating the Alpena store by skipping items at a self-checkout counter, police reported.

When a store worker confronted TeddyJo Fliam, 34, about the skipped items, Fliam left the store, upset and denying the alleged theft, according to police.

Surveillance footage revealed that Fliam had stolen more than $1,000 in merchandise at the self-checkout counter since April, police said.

Police arrested Fliam on Sept. 29. She was arraigned on Tuesday in Alpena’s 88th District Court on one count of first-degree retail fraud.
