ALPENA — Planning has begun for this year’s Bolenz Jewelry Holiday Parade and registration forms are now being accepted.

The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25. Starting at the Annex building parking lot at the corner of Chisholm Street and Ninth Avenue, the parade will travel down Chisholm, turn left onto 2nd Avenue, right onto Water Street, and will end in the parking lot behind City Hall.

A Christmas/holiday design should be the dominating factor when decorating your float or parade entry. Entries will be judged on originality, overall appearance, and lighting effort extended. Holiday music is highly encouraged.

Registration forms are available at the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce office at 235 W. Chisholm St. or at alpenachamber.com. Completed forms must be turned in by 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21. Late registrations will not be accepted. Entries without registration will not be allowed in the parade.

Winners will be announced via social media that evening and in the press Saturday, Nov. 27. Winners will be awarded trophies and cash prizes in two categories, commercial and non-commercial. First place will earn $200, second will receive $150, and third will get $100.
