Montmorency County Inmates lodged in Alpena County Jail: 9

Oct. 17

6:58 p.m.: Dispatch received a call for a vehicle deer and took the information for an officer, driver was unharmed.

7:40 p.m.: Deputies responded to a dispute in Avery Township; the parties were separated and responders cleared without incident.

Oct. 18

6:52 a.m.: A welfare check on a temporary resident of Rust Township was requested by his neighbor. The residence was found to be secure and no one was there.

8:07 a.m.: A passerby called to report a vehicle in the ditch in Vienna Township; upon the arrival of the deputy the vehicle had already left the scene.

8:08 a.m.: A power line down, and on fire, was reported in Albert Township; the caller stated he did not have power at the time. Albert Township Fire Department responded to the scene for scene safety until PIE&G could get there to fix the issue.

8:45 a.m.: A two vehicle crash was reported in Vienna Township; no injuries were reported. Deputies along with Tri Township EMS and Vienna Fire all responded to the scene.

9:30 a.m.: A tree across the eastbound lane of M32 in Vienna Township was reported, Vienna Fire responded for traffic control until MDOT could remove the tree.

10:05 a.m.: Multiple 911 calls came into the center referencing a large tree that had fallen across M32 in Vienna Township. MCOS deputy along with Vienna Fire responded to the scene for traffic control while MDOT removed the tree.

Oct. 21

2:19 p.m.: A business in Albert Township called to report they have camera footage of a male subject stealing multiple items from the store. A deputy responded to the scene, looked at the camera footage and recognized the individual, went to his residence and obtained the stolen property. This is still under investigation.

Oct. 22

12:12 a.m.: Deputies responded to a domestic violence in Briley Township; the male subject was arrested and later lodged at Alpena County Jail. Officers cleared without incident.

6:58 a.m.: A residential panic alarm was activated in Albert Township. When contact was made with the homeowner he stated it was a false alarm.

10:20 a.m.: An automated call came in on 911 from an Apple watch reporting that the wearer had been involved in a serious crash. The 911 was an open line and the location showed an ORV trail in Briley Township. Deputies responded to the area and were unable to locate a crash. Dispatch had made a call to the number that showed on the 911 call and the wearer of the watch called back and stated she was fine, just riding the trails on the ORV.

4:24 p.m.: A welfare check on a resident in Hillman Township was requested by a friend from out of town, deputies responded to the scene.

Oct. 23

6:53 p.m.: An officer along with Tri-Township EMS and Fire responded to a motorcycle deer accident on Pleasant Valley Road. Both subjects involved in the accident were transported by EMS for their injuries.

8:32 p.m.: A deputy responded to a vehicle deer accident in Vienna Township and took the report; no one was injured.
