Alpena has reached new three-year deals with its clerical union and the fire union employees. The clerical employees will receive a wage increase of $1 an hour for this year, 3% for 2023, and 3% for 2024.

The firefighters will see a wage increase of 4% for 2022, 4% for 2023, and 4% for 2024, as well as a one time increase of $1 an hour for lieutenants and $2 an hour increase for captains to address the wage disparity between officer and non-officer paramedics.
